Have you met Rosie? She’s a photographer based out of Orlando, Florida who loves creating beautiful images.

1.) What can you tell us about this photo

The Title of the image is “Flowing Dahlia”. The image was shot at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA during the Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Society Show and Competition. This Dahlia caught my eye because of its color and perfect center.

2.) What gear/software did you use to create this image?

The image was captured with a Nikon D600 and 60mm Nikkor f/2.8G ED Lens. The basic color correct was done in Adobe Camera Raw and then enhanced in Photoshop using the Zoom, Twirl and Pinch filters to soften and stretch the petals.

3.) What do you like to photograph?

When I retired from my full-time wedding photography career, I wasn’t exactly sure where I was headed with photography. I started my career as a nature photographer so I decided to go back to my first love and for the first time in my life, I saw the possibilities and beauty in photographing flowers. I’m hooked and can’t get enough of photographing flowers anywhere, anytime!

4.) What made you decide to become a member?

I have been a KelbyOne member since Scott was at the helm of Photoshop User! I joined when I was a Photoshop “newbie” in the mid-2000s. I was thirsty for knowledge that would help me to be the best wedding photographer I could be in the new digital world and so much of what I learned about Photoshop came through putting into practice what I read in this magazine. Even though I teach Photoshop in my own workshops now, I still go to the KelbyOne website to see what’s new and on the horizon with Photoshop.
