- Years in Photography: about 7 years as a serious amateur hobbyist.

- Title: Fuchsia
- Location: Shady Lane Nursery, Menomonee Falls, WI
- Additional description: This was the first Post-Covid outing with the Menomonee Falls Camera Club taken in early May.
- Gear/Software used: Nikon D850, Tamron 90mm macro lens (the old one without VR)/processed in Lightroom.
Describe your creative style in 3 words.
A little dark.
Tell us about a time you struggled or failed with your photography, and how you overcame it?
Haha. How do I overcome failure? I buy more gear. Seriously, don’t laugh! I can’t blame my gear for my problems, so if my pictures aren’t good, I only have myself to blame. And that’s where taking KelbyOne classes comes in. I read books. I buy a lot of books. I follow tons of photographers on Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr. I am active in two camera clubs, so I have knowledgeable friends to shoot with.
What sparked your love of photography?
I grew up reading Life, Look, and National Geographic magazines. I have been hooked on photography for as long as I can remember. When I moved to Wisconsin, pre-social media, I started taking photos of my town, local festivals and events on film to send home to my Mom so she would not worry about me.
What’s your favorite class on KelbyOne and why?
My favorite class on Kelby One is: A Day With Jay Maisel. I adore Jay Maisel! I even named one of my pet Tarantulas Maisel. This is a Master Class in Street Photography, a genre I love. He has taught me to slow down. I can listen to the man talk all day.
