Describe your creative style in 3 words.

I try to make my images just slightly “Realer Than Real”.

Tell us about a time you struggled or failed with your photography, and how you overcame it?

I used to have a “purist” belief that true photography could only be created in manual mode, and, as a result, missed a lot of shots I shouldn’t have.  The solution was to return from the dark side and start to let these wonderfully designed machines help me out in aperture and shutter priority modes (along with the occasional return to manual when the situation calls for it).

What sparked your love of photography?

From the time I first held a camera as a kid, I was interested in capturing the interesting, intriguing and unique things all around me.

What’s your favorite class on KelbyOne and why?

What could be better than Scott’s A Day/Week with Jay Maisel classes?  Curmudgeonly humor, charm, wisdom, helpful advice and great photography from a master.
