Meet Ed Balaun—he’s not only a photographer, but he’s a golfer too! Ed likes to combine his two passions which is why he creates images like the one you see here.
What can you tell us about this photo?
This is a photo of Dustin Johnson, 2016 United States Open Champion, playing in The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. It was taken on May 30, 2017. It’s also notable that at the time, Johnson was the Number 1 ranked golfer in the world, and that he has kept that position through the current date. Dustin Johnson is also the son-in-law of hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky.
What gear or software did you use to create this image?
I shot this with a Canon 7D camera through a Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS II USM lens. I processed it in Lightroom CS.
How long have you been a KelbyOne member and what made you decide to become a member?
I have been a Kelby One member for three years consecutively, and probably a total of five years cumulative. I’m a member because the online learning is constantly updated to show the newest techniques, and because I love the fun way Scott and his instructors present the material. I also have purchased at least 12 of Scott Kelby’s books, and recommend him to everyone.
