Next Saturday, October 7, 2017, photographers and enthusiasts from around the world will meet up at designated locations near their towns for a photo expedition! You’ll have the chance to photograph, socialize, make friends, and win prizes on top of being part of a great cause during Scott Kelby’s annual Worldwide Photowalk.

What is a Photowalk?

Photowalks are destinations in cities all across the world where photographers and enthusiasts like yourself get together to explore their cities and create cool images. Each photowalk consists of 50 walkers or less, and in most cases, unless the walk fills up, each city only has one walk. You can use whatever gear you’re most comfortable photographing with too—including smartphones, DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, compacts, and more.

Is there an age limit?

Absolutely not! So bring the whole family! In fact… we even have a special Youth Photo Contest designed specifically for anyone UNDER the age of 16. (We’ll tell you more about the other contests a little further down.)

How much does a Photowalk cost?

Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk is 100% FREE. You don’t have to spend a dime to register for a photowalk. All you have to do is show up and take photos.

What’s the purpose of the Worldwide Photowalk?

To have fun, practice your photography skills, meet other members of your community, and you can even show off your work by participating in the contests. Plus, you’re walking for a good cause! 100% of monies raised from t-shirt sales and donations go to The Springs of Hope in Kenya.

What are the different contests?

  1. The Walker Photo Contest: All walkers can submit one photo taken during their walk.
  2. Video Contest: All walkers can submit a short video (5 minutes or less) taken during their walk.
  3. NEW! Youth Photo Contest: This contest is designed for walkers 16 years of age or younger. Youth walkers may submit their best photo taken during their walk.

And yes, there are prizes! Go to the Prizes page on the Worldwide Photowalk website to see what you can win.

Okay, so now that you know what’s at stake and how much fun the whole family can have for free, it’s time to get registered! Find a walk near you.
