Along the lines of last week’s tip, do you ever need to make a selection at a specific size, for example a 1024×1024 square (which is the maximum resolution for Generative Fill), or one of many other scenarios? When you have the Rectangular Marquee tool (M) active, look at the top Options Bar and change Style to Fixed Size. Enter the Width and Height for the size you want. Click-and-hold the mouse button, and you’ll see the rectangle at the size you defined. When you drag, the rectangle moves with your cursor. Release the mouse button to apply the selection. If you still need to reposition it, just click-and-drag inside the selection. This works with the Elliptical Marquee tool as well.
