Meet Linda Krueger, she and her husband photograph as a team. Their main focus is nature with an emphasis on bird photography. Together, they’ve photographed over 266 different species of birds. Here’s the full version of this image.
What can you tell us about this image?
The image was taken in Hastings, Minnesota on a snowy February morning. Most all birds look good on a snowflake covered tree branch and it’s hard to resist heading out with a camera in hand!
What gear or software did you use to create this image?
This photo was taken in 2010 with a camera I no longer own, the Canon EOS 50D. The lens used was the EF600mm f/4L IS USM and a 1.4x teleconverter was added to that. It was shot at 1/320 sec at f/5.6, ISO 320. I currently shoot with Canon EOS-1D Mark IV but still use the 600mm lens along with others.
How long have you been a KelbyOne member and what made you decide to become a member?
I believe I’ve been a KelbyOne member for three years. I absolutely love everything about Scott Kelby from his workshops (I have attended two), to his books, to his wonderful KelbyOne site filled with a lot of how-to videos. Having focused on bird photography for many, many years, my husband and I recently decided to learn more about landscape photography. We took advantage of how-to videos on Scott’s site. Much to our surprise, there was even a video about photographing waterfalls in Iceland which was ironic since we had planned an 18-day trip there. When we left in May for Iceland, we felt well prepared to take some great landscape shots thanks to the KelbyOne site!
