When you’re making adjustments in the Basic sliders in Camera Raw, there’s a hidden shortcut that shows different things to help with various adjustments. Holding down the Option (PC: Alt) key while dragging the Exposure, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, or Dehaze sliders will show clipping (the areas of the photo that are losing detail), such as blown-out highlights, or plugged-up shadows. Also, holding down Option (PC: Alt) when you’re adjusting Sharpening or Noise Reduction in the Detail panel will give you a grayscale view so you can focus on the detail and not be distracted by color.
