Whenever you’re working with multiple photos in the same file in Photoshop, you’ll notice that the colors often don’t match. Choose the layer you want to change, and go to Image>Adjustments>Match Color. In the Match Color dialog, choose the layer from which you want to copy the color in the Layer drop-down menu near the bottom, adjust the Fade slider, and click OK. This will get the job done quickly and easily.
This tip previously appeared in Colin Smith’s Photoshop Tips column, in the May, 2019 issue of Photoshop User magazine.
Hi, I have the latest version of Photoshop, and I get as far as Image>Adjustments, but I don’t see anywhere that it says Match Color.
Is this tip for old versions of Photoshop, or am I missing something obvious? I’ve been trying to learn to match colors between photos for a long time, but every video I’ve found runs into the same issue where they say to click on something that I can’t find.
It may be that Photoshop just doesn’t offer that feature anymore. Thank you
Hi, Everett! I am on the latest June 2020 update, and it’s still there. Did you have a layer selected when you tried? It should be in the last section of Image>Adjustment menu options.
Hope this helps!
