Describe your creative style in 3 words
Colorful, contrasty, dramatic
Tell us about a time you struggled or failed with your photography, and how you overcame it?
For 365 days I made a bet with myself to shoot sunrises as I used to work during the day and night. When the light wasn’t right, waking up every morning to catch that perfect light and facing dark moody clouds and rain, and cold would put me down. But the determination to get that one shot would get me going for the next day until everything worked in harmony in front of me and inside me.
What sparked your love of photography?
Funnily enough till the age of 34, I wouldn’t even get a photo with my phone. People who know me for years always say “Look at you, from taking no photos at all to becoming a master photographer”.
I bought a camera to film guitar instructional videos, one night took it out and about to “shoot”. That was it. Ever since I have been obsessed with photography. I find it so meditating that it clears my mind from anything.
What’s your favorite class on KelbyOne and why?
My favorite class on KelbyOne is the From Flat to Fabulous series. That’s how I learned 90% of the stuff I know. Also love Scott’s way of explaining things and making everything look easy.
